Are you reading this, the World Men's Championship - or as some would dub it, the 'amateurs vs the professionals' championship - is probably on going.
This event has been the talk of the town in the bowling world, since the WTBA announced the rule change earlier this year whicj allowed professionals to play in Open events.
Finally, the professionals arrive in our backyards, where they will have to adapt to 'outside' factors such as jetlags, fatigue an the pressure, to uphold their reputation against the amateurs.
As for the amateurs, what better way to show what they are made of than to give the professionals a run for their money? After all, it is not everyday you get to play with the superstars from PBA.
If you are clueless about what I just wrote, fret not, as a preview on page 16 for this issue will give you a better insight of what to expect in the tournament.
In this issue, we also focus on Brunei Darussalam and if you ask why Brunei; simply because bowling in Brunei is struggling to take flight. This time around, we are taking time off from writing about how well the sport of bowling has progressed in Asia throughout the years because, for the Brunei team, they don't event have a proper place to train! Luckily for them, they have a dedicated coach, just as the Malaysian team has Holloway Cheah. CHeck out the Brunei story on page 26 and an interview with Holloway on page 18.
Enough of my rambling and let's just sit back and enjoy the read. But before I end, the ABD team would like to congratulate Malaysia's most famous bowler and ABD contibutor, Shalin Zulkifli, for making it as a professional bwoler. We have her stroy, from her very own lips, on page 32.
Until next time...
